Edinburgh based Glencairn develop design-led and sustainable community living spaces. As an agile and specialist team they bring together backgrounds in housebuilding and architecture within the student and hotel sectors. Working in close partnership with the team we developed a brand identity that puts people, sustainability and design at the heart of everything they do.

Partnering with the Glencairn team we developed a brand identity that quietly communicates their vision and values. Central to the brand is the font Iskry. Chosen for its elegance and warmth it appears in the custom logotype and also as a display font.
The strapline ‘Living Spaces’ is a play on words around the idea that their spaces develop a life of their own after they’re inhabited. To reinforce ownership of the strapline a small G in a circle (shorthand for the logo) sits top right, referencing the © symbol.
The logotype is often connected to the Living Spaces strapline through a simple vertical line which can also be threaded through hero project images on digital presentations and document covers. This all comes together with a muted colour palette informed by some of the materials used to create their living spaces.
